2 reasons why I don't like Luxons.

1. The aquatic theme they have going on isn't my style. (I only like turtles that live in sewers and do kung-fu)
2. I hate losing, and we (Kurzicks) occasionally lose to Luxons in AB. I don't like getting pwnd. Specially if the person handing my ass to me is Luxon. (all in good fun I guess)

Not much difference (community wise) suppose. I reckon it's personal preference, and I prefer being a Kurzick. I like the rivalry between the two factions. I could be doing a mission or quest with one of my best buddies (who is in a Luxon guild), and then call him silly names in AB. The smack talk motivates me to play better (again, in AB).

2 resons to liek the luxons:
Reson uno:The luxons are more free and fun like.
Reson dos:Even Danika(A.K.A. a kurzick) says the homes of the kurzicks are BORING! And she wishes to escape. Ha

Go with your tastes. Kurzicks really have a goth thing going with their pale makeup and obsession over poetry. With Luxons it's just body paint and shabby clothes.

Kurzicks - prize ingenuity, very faithful to the Five True Gods, have stone forest.
Luxons - prize strength and honour, don't care much of Five True Gods except maybe Balthazar, have frozen jade sea.

I like wandering the Jade Sea but at heart I enjoy the Echovald Forest more, because it feels as though there's more than meets the eye hidden deep in the heart of the forest (down south where we can't go, high in the upper branches, deep underground) and I like that potential; I hate a place where everything's already explored (damn those human explorers, mapping every place on our planet Earth so the mystery is taken out).

Armour, I like Kurzick better by far. Statistically speaking Elite Kurzick is likely to be more popular both because I see it more often and, more importantly, Amber costs more than Jade at rare material traders, indicating it is purchased more often.

In the end, go with what you like. I was actually having a hard choice choosing when I first joined Guild Wars, except for the fact that in the Ninja vs Pirate war, the Luxons seemed more like the Pirates, and I'm on the Ninja side, so, yeah

"[Jimmiesmom]: hes playing everquest"
"To [Jimmiesmom]: damn..."

I laughed pretty hard there, although it hurt when I fell out of my chair.

Depends on why the question was asked.

If you are going to join the side that I say is better, I would say that the Kurzicks are better.

If you are going to join the opposite side of what I say is better, I would say that the Kurzicks are better.

Guess which side I am on.

I don't really like either of them that much from a story point of view - best to just pick the side that has the "stats" you want... e.g. if you're there for FFF, go with Kurzick, or if you like one armor style or the other more, go that way...

As far as the civilisations go, the Kurzicks have a fairly strong personality but it's kind of dysfunctional (the whole bureaucracy + emo + superstitious thing is more or less as good as three strikes). The Luxons seem to have a much weaker culture... if anything, though, they're the polar opposite of the Kurzicks - nothing formal at all, relatively nomadic - fairly warlike and "might-makes-right" (not very strongly though, compared to say the Klingons from Star Trek especially) - and practical/worldly. Which makes them less screwed in the head but still not really interesting.

Same could be said for Luxons.
Both sides have real people on them that are rude so doesnt matter what side.

I disagree alot on this one.
Back way on Gyala mission for masters anyone?

both sides do this. In my experience the Luxons ALWAYS mob. While we go 4-4-4.
But I know that Kurzicks mob too.

Just because you go Kurzick doesnt mean you have to follow the Kurz side of the story line. you can still go Luxon story line as Kurz

I rarely lose when I AB as a Kurz. Both sides have there moments. Seem like they go a month or 2 of sucking then the other side sucks for a month or 2.

bottom line there is no real difference.
It all depends on if you want to play with turtles or get crabs.

Well, I don't even have a preference in armor, I like certain armors from both factions for different professions.

I played both sides extensively and from an AB point of view, I won way more battles playing for the luxon side.

If you are a sin, you go Kurz for Moebius. If you are a war or a necro, it's Luxon for D-Slash or SV.

Personally, I did the Lux side only because the guild is there. I lived in Florida, and UGH! I hate all that teal! That and Gayla, escorting those f'in turtles. You run the back way(yawn), kill all the mobs, then escort the damn turtles(bigger yawn). All as the friggin teal is killing me. And the makeup they wear...what Clown School is in Cavalon? I went back to Kurz on my warrior, got the sweet armor(gives her that nice ghetto bootay), and FFF'd Lutz for easy faction. Eternal Grove is hard and fast, just the way I like it .

I like the kurzick armours and atmosphere. But the way the factions were put into the game kinda killed the whole faction idea from the start so it's a rather ill conceived situation.
Since Luxons can buy Kurzick armour and vice versa and you can become the saviour of both sides it's just preposterous anyway.
In reality they are just two sides that you can switch back and forth between as much as you want and the the whole story behind it means jack sh*t in the end. A lost opportunity really.

In the end I am in a luxon guild but I am a kurzick by title. That's how silly it is. Just see which armours you like and forget about the rest is my advice.

ever quest sucks >.>

Also

KURZICk...I heard luxons hate penguins...you support penguin haters? You a nazi? Only nazis hate penguins.

Kurzicks have a gothic tone, and the forest has an interesting design and architecture. The Jade Sea is very plain, not very exciting you see the odd ship every once in awhile but its nothing fantastic.
